■ Equipment and Reagents to Be Supplied by User
1) For all protocols
▷ Pipets and sterile, RNase-free pipet tips
▷ Ethanol (96-100%)
▷ Microcentrifuge with rotor for 2 ml tubes
▷ 70% ethanol in water
▷ 14.3 M β-mercaptoethanol (β -ME) or alternatively, 2 M dithiothreitol (DTT) in water
2) For blood protocol
▷ Tissue for erythrocyte lysis use of sterile, disposable, polypropylene tubes is recommended
▷ Refrigerated (4°C) microcentrifuge (for blood samples ≤250 µl) or refrigerated laboratory centrifuge with rotor for 12 ml or 15 ml centrifuge tubes (for blood samples >250 µl)
3) For tissue protocol
▷ QIAGEN TissueRuptor II (cat. no. 9002756) or equivalent rotor–stator homogenizer
▷ QIAGEN TissueLyser III (cat. no. 3003240)
▷ Mortar and pestle and liquid nitrogen
4) For cell protocol using trypsin
▷ Phosphate-buffered saline (PBS)
▷ Trypsin
▷ Medium, containing serum
