MEM/MEM Alpha (Minimum Essential Medium)

MEM은 다양한 세포배양에 이용되는 배지 중의 하나로 기본적으로 Earle’s Balanced Salt Solution이 포함되어 있으며, 일부 세포 배양에 적합하도록 아미노산과 비타민이 첨가되어 있습니다. 일반적인 환경에서는 Hank’s Balanced Salt Solution을 포함한 MEM이 적합한 반면, CO₂ 농도가 높은 환경에서는 Earle’s Balanced Salt Solution이 포함된 배지 사용이 적합합니다. MEM alpha(MEM alpha modification)는 아미노산과 비타민의 농도가 강화되어 있습니다.

RPMI-1640

RPMI 1640은 Rosewell Park Memorial Institute에서 개발되었으며, RPMI 1630을 기본 조성으로 bicarbonate buffering system을 도입하여 아미노산과 비타민 양을 조절한 배지 입니다. Human lymphocyte 등의 다양한 종양성 세포를 배양하는데 사용됩니다.
